Raised in a household filled with the sounds of music and surrounded by the influence of art, Carole's artistic journey began at a young age. With her mother as an artist and her father sharing a deep appreciation for creativity, Carole was immersed in a world of diverse artistic expression. Whether it was show tunes, classical music, or instrumental pieces playing on the stereo, the richness of her childhood environment shaped her artistic eye. Guided by her mother’s encouragement to observe and critique paintings, Carole unknowingly studied art throughout her youth.
Although she explored various art forms, Carole found her true passion in oils during her 30s. Drawn to their vibrant colors, textures, and the dynamic interplay of light and shadow, oils became her preferred medium. Her work, whether in landscapes, still lifes, or portraits, reflects a deep connection to nature, family, and the fleeting beauty of everyday life.
Carole’s dedication to her craft is evident in her commitment to lifelong learning. She has studied under renowned artists such as Bob Tompkins, whom she considers a living master, and has painted alongside many greats, including Joanna Arnett, Kevin MacPherson, Stephanie Birdsall, Shanna Kuntz, Roger Dale Brown, and Elizabeth Robbins. Whether painting en plein air or collaborating with other artists, Carole finds inspiration in the fellowship of the art community.
In addition to her painting, Carole also enjoys photography and writing, constantly exploring new forms of creative expression. Her works have been featured in homes, private businesses, galleries, and juried art shows across the U.S. and Europe. Many of her pieces have supported nonprofit organizations through silent auctions, demonstrating her generous spirit and desire to give back through her talent.
Carole is an active member of the Mississippi Artists Guild, Mississippi Oil Painters Association, Mississippi Plein Air Group, and Mississippi Artists. Her involvement in these organizations reflects her deep connection to the art community and her ongoing pursuit of artistic excellence.
Beyond her art, Carole is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Married to her college sweetheart for 45 years, she finds endless inspiration in her family, nature, and the simple joys of life. Her paintings invite viewers to connect on a deeply personal level, each one offering a glimpse into her world and the emotions that drive her creative process.
